Pornind de la schema precedenta se poate realiza o varianta a unui receptor cu amplificare directa, alimentat cu tensiuni mici, obtinute dintr-un element galvanic care arc drept electrolit si depolarizant —pamintul. Un astfel de element furnizeaza o tensiune de 0,6…1V si poate functiona, fara intretinere, peste 6 luni de zile. Electrodul pozitiv poate fi carbunele de retorta de la bateriile telefonice de tip mare sau cuprul, iar electrodul pozitiv – zincul. Ambii electrozi, fiecare de dimensiunea 170 x 200 mm, se ingroapa in pamint umed (eventual in pivnita), avind grija ca legaturile sa fie sudate cu cositor.
Schema receptorului este simpla, spre a nu avea pierderi de energie (fig. 11, a). Piesele vor fi aceleasi ca la montajul precedent. Cu un asemenea receptor se pot asculta posturile locale ia casca, iar noaptea se pot auzi si alte posturi apropiate.
Acest mod de alimentare poate fi aplicat si la radioreceptoare cu 2…3 tranzistoare, nivelul auditiei crescind, ceea ce permite folosirea unui difuzor. Mentionam ca se recomanda folosirea unui comutator-intrerupator de intreruperea curentului si legarea antenei la pamint pentru protectia necesara in cazul descarcarilor atmosferice (fig. 11, b).
