Urmarind zborul lin al aeromodelelor purtate de curentii aerieni ne-a venit ideia sa construim un dispozitiv cu ajutorul caruia sa detectam acesti curenti.
Dispozitivul are la baza principiul puntii Wheatstone.
Bratele puntii sint construite din:
— filamentul unui bec fara sticla de 12 V;
— o rezistenta de 390 ohmi;
— un potentiometru de 5 Kohmi (care formeaza doua brate ale puntii) ;
— un microampermetru cu care se poate stabili daca puntea este echilibrata sau nu.
Echilibrul puntii il stabilim cu ajutorul potentiometrului. In momentul in care un curent de aer trece prin tub, raceste filamentul si dezechilibreaza puntea. Dezechilibrul este indicat de microampermetru.
Am constatat ca puntea functioneaza optim la o tensiune de 7,6 V. La o tensiune mai mare, instrumentul este prea sensibil, iar la una mai mica nu este suficient dc sensibil.
Instrumentul poate fi folosit si la localizarea defectelor unor instalatii prin care trece un gaz (chiar si un gaz toxic).

Desi principiul puntii Wheatstone este mult folosit, contributia originala consta in faptul ca unul din bratele puntii este filamentul unui bec, a carui rezistenta se modifica in contact cu curentul.
